HUNTING PUBLIC

Data Sources & Disclaimer

Effective October 10, 2026 · Dykes Ventures LLC

Hunting Public is an independent, privately developed app. It is built and operated by Dykes Ventures LLC. It is not produced, hosted, reviewed, endorsed, or affiliated with the U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Census Bureau, National Weather Service, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries, any other state wildlife agency, or any federal, state, tribal, or local government body. No government agency has reviewed or approved this app or its content.

Every map layer, boundary, and regulation shown in the app is public‑sector data, redistributed exactly as the issuing agency publishes it, from the sources listed below. We do not alter the underlying regulatory content. Boundaries, access rules, and hunting regulations change — always verify current rules with the agency linked below before you rely on anything shown here, and before you hunt.

One non-government source

LayerSource
Time zone boundaries (for the legal‑light clock)timezone-boundary-builderMIT licence

This is the one layer in the app that is not a U.S. government work. It is MIT-licensed (attribution only) and used because it is the only candidate source that gets Arizona's no‑DST rule and the Navajo Nation's DST exception correct — see the project README for the evaluation.

Licensing

Federal government works listed above are in the public domain in the United States (17 U.S.C. § 105) and carry no usage restriction. Some state-published layers are state public records without an explicit open-data licence; we display them as published by the agency and link directly to that agency for anyone who needs to verify terms for their own use.

Accuracy & your responsibility

Map layers in this app are extracts of the above government services, may lag the live agency data, and are not a substitute for checking with the agency directly. You are responsible for verifying current boundaries, access rules, and hunting regulations with the issuing agency before you hunt. See the Terms of Use for the full disclaimer.
